Taming the beast – Mac OS X’s nasty scrollbar

A new “feature” in Mac OS X (since Mountain Lion I believe) is quite nice but can also drive some of us crazy.

It’s the scrollbar (horizontal and vertical) which, by default, disappears unless you start to scroll or put two fingers on your trackpad.
Just moving your mouse over the area where the scrollbar used to be isn’t enough, you actually need to start to scroll to make it visible and shortly after you used it, it disappears again.
